Ingredients

  • 1. 1 Small Beetroot, boiled and mashed
  • 2. 1 Medium Potato, boiled and mashed
  • 3. 1/2 cup Green Peas, boiled
  • 4. 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 5. 2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 6. 1/2 tsp Amchur (Dry Mango) Powder, Optional
  • 7. Salt to taste
  • 8. Bread Crumbs for coating
  • 9. Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

1

In a large mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients together except the bread crumbs. Take a handful of the mixture, roll into balls and flatten to form round shaped patties.

2

Spread the bread crumbs on a plate and coat the cutlet patties evenly on all sides.

3

To a large skillet over medium heat, add an even coating of oil for shallow frying. Place the cutlets on the skillet and fry both sides until crisp and brown.

4

Your delicious Vegetable Cutlets are ready to serve hot, paired with ketchup and a hot cup of tea.

Notes

1. Make sure that the prepared mixture is not moist or mushy. It should be firm but yielding.
2. Also ensure that there are no big chunks and the mixture is smooth and even. Big chunks may cause the patties to crumble or break easily.
3. Take care not to flatten the patties too thin. A thicker patty holds good shape and doesn't crumble while flipping.
4. If you find the mixture to be moist or mushy, add some cornstarch or all purpose flour to absorb excess moisture.
5. You can also deep fry or bake them or make use of an air fryer!
6. These Vegetable Cutlets can also be used to make Veggie Burgers! 🙂
