Cabbage Dosa (Cabbage Polo)

Cabbage Dosa, also known as Cabbage Polo in Konkani, is a favorite delicacy among Konkani folks. Easy to make with readily available ingredients, this special dosa can be consumed any time of the day – be it for breakfast, snack or dinner! It is so yummylicious and healthy, it can even be consumed by itself without any side dips like chutneys or sambar. Just add a chunk of butter on a freshly made hot dosa and munch away! ๐Ÿ˜€

Ingredients

  • 1. 2 Cups Idli rice/ Long grain rice
  • 2. 1/2 cup grated Coconut
  • 3. 2 Red chill (Soaked in water for 5 mins)
  • 4. 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 5. 1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
  • 6. 1/4 tsp turmeric paste
  • 7. 2 cups Cabbage finely chopped
  • 8. Salt as per taste.
  • 9. 10 tsp Coconut Oil

Instructions

Pre-soak rice for 6 hrs.

In a blender, grind all ingredients together except cabbage to a fine paste.

Now add cabbage and mix well.

In a pan over medium-high heat, add 2 tsp coconut oil and pour a ladle of the batter spreading evenly.

Cook for 2 mins on each side, until golden brown.

Serve with coconut oil/butter or any chutney.
